ASTON VILLA EYEING SUMMER MOVE FOR CHELSEA STRIKER

Aston Villa are ready to make another bid for Chelsea out favour striker Mitchy Batshuayi. Aston Villa made the move for the Belgium international in the January transfer window, but the player decided against a 6-month loan deal.

He chose to stay in Stamford Bridge and fight for his place. But since the close of the window, the player has seen little playing time. Top striker Tammy Abraham is out injured, and he is not expected to return to action till later in March. Giroud has been chosen to play ahead of the Belgium international in recent matches.

Dean Smith is without summer signing Wesley Moraes. The striker is out with a knee ligament injury and he is out for the season.

Aston Villa who made a move for the player in January will return for the player in the summer transfer window. The Claret and Blue army want to offer Batshuayi an escape route from Stamford Bridge. They are ready to offer him a permanent contract. Batshuayi has been sent on loan on three occasions since 2018. He has had stints with Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace.

Batshuayi, 26, has made 25 appearances for the club this season. He has scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists. Should Batshuayi eventually make the move to Aston Villa he will join Christian Benteke and Ritchie De Laet as Belgium international to have represented the Claret and Blue army in recent memory.

Villa have also registered an interest in Rangers striker, Alfredo Morelos. The Colombia international has been impressive for Steven Gerrard’s side. He has scored 29 and goals provided 10 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions. The status of the club will determine the transfer business at the end of the season. Should the club maintain their premier league status at the end of the season, they will make a move for the player.
