The side assembled by former Manchester City manager Mark Hughes was believed to be slowly disbanded during January, as Espanyol were rumored to offer Roque Santa Cruz a temporary move away from Eastlands.
However, the Paraguayan hitman's agent, Jan Van Baal, has refuted the allegation that his client is pursuing a loan move, and that the outcast striker will continue to push for a first-team role under new boss Roberto Mancini.
"I think the rumors are all press stories," Van Baal told Sport.co.uk. "Roque is not going anywhere. He is staying in Manchester. That is it. I had a call from Espanyol but that link is not happening. "He will stay at Manchester City," Van Baal reiterated. "He is happy at Manchester City, and Manchester City are happy to have him. That is the end of it."
City, meanwhile, will continue to search for supplements to their squad with Arsenal's former talismanic leader Patrick Vieira expected to be imminently unveiled.
